How to Download Apex Legends on PS4, Xbox One and PC
Here’s how you download Apex Legends on the three major platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
How to download Apex Legends on PS4
To download Apex Legends on PS4, head to the PSN Store on your PS4. You can find Apex Legend under the “Free” game tab on the left. If you want to do it via the browser, visit the Apex Legends PSN store page, add the game to your cart, and checkout the free game. The install can be queued up even when PS4 is in Rest mode.
You don’t need a PlayStation Plus subscription to engage in online multiplayer on Apex Legends.
How to download Apex Legends on Xbox One
Starting the Apex Legends download on Xbox One means visiting the Store page, finding the game and downloading it. If you want to go via Microsoft Store, you can visit its Apex Legends page and add the game to account. You do have to have your Xbox One as a linked device on your Microsoft account.
Unlike with PS4, you do need an active Xbox Live Gold subscription to play it online. You can also visit the Apex Legends Microsoft Store page to add the game to your account, though you’ll need to have your Xbox One as one of the linked devices attached to your Microsoft account. You’ll also need an active Xbox Live Gold subscription to play online, as is standard on the console.
How to download Apex Legends on PC
An Apex Legends download on PC is somewhat more involved than on console. First, you need to have an account on EA’s Origin platform. You can do that on the same page you can download Origin from. Then, you need to download and install Origin (unless you have it already). Open Origin, log in, find Apex Legends in the store and add the game to your library. You can also download the game from the Apex Legends storefront.
